"...awareness that the common ground they share in their humanity is far greater than their perceived differences, and seek a solution which embraces this reality."

Nice thought but it aint the way the world works. If we could make everything similar but leave one tiny hair of difference in the entire universe, we would then use it to split the thing wide open, even if it meant our utter destruction. Sorry to say.

Much as the ice skater who spins faster when her arms are drawn in, and slower when her arms are extended, the rate of the velocity of animus extant among the parties involved in the ME conflict is proportionally increased as they seek more isolation from one another (drawn arms) and will be diminished when they "open" themselves to an awareness that the common ground they share in their humanity is far greater than their perceived differences, and seek a solution which embraces this reality. As long as they are in a defensive posture, their centrifugal force will preclude forward progress and instead maintain their spinning on their current"spot". This is a choice they have made, and they can individually choose to release themselves from this dizzying whirl. At some point, of course, their "spinning" must stop as there is a consistent degradation of their energy over time (in keeping with some law of physics which presently escapes me, but of which I am sure you are aware.)
That is an admirable piece of BS. Still BS,but admirable.

Friction is one way of putting it. In a non-quantum world, it could be said that the angular momentum is transferred to water molecules in the ice because angular momentum is conserved. In a quantum world, the situation is murkier.

"As they seek more isolation from one another their "rate of velocity of animus" increases."

ROTFLMAO!! The meaning of words doesn't matter to you at all, does it, Karma?!!!

I guess what you are trying to say is that the more they try to stay away from each other, the faster their hate gets<gggg>...even to a higher rate!

Lazarus...HELP!!! I am dying, laughing at this fellow!!!

LOL! You might want to enroll in an evening course to find out about that...:-)
