Oh yeah I remember now that little guy standing on the Island yelling: "Boss, its the plague the plague," then everybody got to live out their fantasies.

However, I have to respectively dissagree here. Using them as resourse in your war strategy is one thing. Targeting them is another and that is where the ethics comes in. They are innocent creatures. I feel very strongly for example that we should not poison the buffalo to hurt the Indians. I understand that the strategy is to cut off the supply lines but feel this means does not justify the ends. I am struggling a little bit with how we treat the animals that are considered "on our side:" Since they themselves don't have a sides opinion.

When you consider innocents as a valid target where do you draw the line. It the case we are talking about we are not actually aiming at the creature but we are setting them up as somesort of kamakazi??

"If we can raise animals to eat, we can raise them as weapons. We are not supposed to be cavalier in our treatment of animals, but strictly they have no rights we are bound to observe. If they will help us terminate a war with fewer casualties, that is a sufficient reason to use them......."

Animals have rights under our legal system and if they're mistreated even on factory type farms you will suffer a fine or punishment. In the bible man was given dominion over animals which is quite different from domination. In Islam an Arabian mare was given special status and you were guaranteed a higher status for taking care of her.
