Greenland is not a member of the UN because it is not a sovereign nation, but an autonomous territory of Denmark. Oceania is a designation given to the small islands of the Pacific, mainly populated by Micronesians and Polynesians, and too far from large land masses to be comfortably assigned to a continent. Many islands and archipelagos in the Pacific, like Taiwan or the Phillipines, are assigned to Asia, and some, like Catalina or the Galapagos Islands, are assigned to one of the Americas. It may be that the largest single land mass in Oceania is New Zealand, since Australia is counted as a continent, but I would have to check.......
