Conflicts just as bad as the Isrealie/Palestinian conflict have been settled in the past and resulted in peaceful coexistience. I see no reason why the two sides can't come together and find a settlement to their differences. It can be done. They're just stubborn assholes for letting the conflict go on this long. Both sides share the blame.

Spain had a horrible civil war in the early part of the 20th century and is now a peaceful country. The U.S. had a horrible civil war, but has been able to function as a unfied country ever since. The Northern Irealand situation, while harldy settled for good at this moment, is winding down to a political solution.

There's no reason why they can't create a practical Palestinian state and coexist with the Isralies. It should have been done a long time ago. One of the reasons why it wasn't done a long time ago is because other arab countries in the region were afraid that the Palestinians would emulate Isralie democracy and thus threaten their autocratic systems of government by planting the idea of democratic rule in the arab people's minds.

Enough is enough! It's the 21st century! It's time to settle their differences and get on with life.
