ADC ups cash collateral
May 2, 1:57 PM
Telecommunications hardware and software maker ADC Telecommunications Inc. has increased the amount of cash it has pledged as collateral by almost $225 million for four leases on its facilities, according to a report from Reuters news service Thursday.

The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based company reportedly said in a federal filing it exchanged the cash collateral for hard assets it had pledged to the lessors on the facilities, including its world headquarters.

In addition, Reuters said the lessors agreed to amend and in some cases delete various financial and operating requirements for ADC, as well as lower lease payments. ADC said that makes it less likely it will violate covenants.

According to the news service, analysts said the move was a nonissue. "The issue with ADC is not really the cash position. The issue is how they generate growth," Merrill Lynch analyst Tal Liani told Reuters.
