there is one software application, the videophone, which has potential to be a mass market application. its use would involve a paradigm shift in how people communicate, but it is the sort of thing that everyone who has a telephone or computer now could move to. the cost is low for those that already have broadband, and the rest would be part of the computer.

there is a value proposition for business: elimination of the telephone at each seat where the new computer provides telephony. telephones are not cheap.
