C&I is still dropping, commersh is still dropping. If loan demand is dropping what are you heading off by raising rates? This will figure more strongly into the Fed's consideration than Bill Gross's flawed theory about why long rates are stubbornly high. OTOH there is dropping dollar rising gold to consider. Does the Fed raise to fend off rising inflation or rising inflation expectations?
