Alas, I think we differ about the time issue. I had the air pocket thing happen as well. At no point did I ever feel comfortable. I haven't stopped flying, but I don't enjoy it anymore, whereas I used to love stepping on a plane.

Falling 67 stories, I can assure you, would not lead me to engage in any kind of rational thought. The tumor is a good analogy because I had the information to make the logical connections and determine a reasonable outcome. I don't see how falling 67 stories would allow that. It certainly didn't help me when my plane was falling.
What I found astounding about the fall was that NOBODY screamed. The looks of fear in people's faces is clearly etched in my mind. But it was a quiet, somber fear. Not a coming to terms type of thing....more a condition of inevitability. I don't see how this current economic situation is comparable, since nothing is inevitable.
