Milo and niceguy767 are presenting a revisionist history and claiming that Hammer is now ahead of schedule.

Does that surprise you?"

I think it's more important just when and if Hammer ships and whether Intel has sidetracked the x86-64 movement by then.
I must admit, I don't have a lot of faith in AMD beating Intel to the punch for any amount of time. OTOH, if the economy stays soft I don't see iTanium catching on very fast either so Hammer has a window.

In Droidian logic, the logic which operates inside the Jerry Sanders Reality Distortion Field, being 2 years late counts as being ahead of schedule.

The Athlon 1.4 GHz processor is actually an 1800+.

The P4 dog will never outperform the Athlon.

World class yields.
