Manu has done something you'd think would be obvious to high tech companies... but noooo

They went to a bunch of corporate accts in 2000 when the company was left for dead, and asked what was a pain point in the business/order cycle. The customers said they had no efficient way to PRICE their products given all the gyrations in the supply chain which are new, this included promotions if a product is sitting around unsold, the value of time to a manufacturer etc. Manu then built a product to address this which is EPO (actually they bought the initial core and integrated it). So thats the new thing we have and I think its a killer app for supply chain. Everybody needs to price effectively and this is an analytical app that takes mathematicians to write so it can't be commoditized (easily). But I2 can do it because they have the resources to build stuff like that. Anyway new products are just what the dr. ordered to get software out of its funk and right now manu is the only one doing that.
