You're right...
What the snopes opionion piece does however, is argue nothing symbolic will help.
I disagree with that.
That assumes no commercial retailer can, or will, make the attempt.
It's the attitude of "we all screwed, nothing we do will prevent petrodollars going to M.E., they'll do it anyway, other countries will buy it", etc etc.

I don't believe it.
Once an oil retailer finds it beneficial to attempt providing non-Terrorist Oil, they will increase their attempts. I think excuses that it cannot be done are just that.

I personally will certainly continue to try to find non-Saudi retailers.
