The greater theory here for me is that pretty well the entire retirement portfolio current value can be invested rather conservatively (relative to being 50% + in PM's like now :o) and provide a good base for age 65ish as I've still 19+ years ro go.. and like your target if I can continue that rate of return through retirement I should at least be comfortable and relatively secure.

Fortunately my earning power is quite good and since I've been a semi stay at home dad has lots of room to grow now that I'm taking on more work. I still get to play in the market and such but for this next stage the 'new' money will be more equally portioned between catching the next wave and generating income. Of course the more I learn the more possibilities arise and so too the chance of modifying my strategy.
