In other words, same-old same-old

Yes but is the Palestinians that want a state, and they currently don't have one, so if they want a state they are the ones that have to change things.

Allah or Israel isn't just going to hand them what they want.

The Palestinian government has failed, and the Israeli government has failed.

The Israel government hasn't failed. They hold regular elections that keeps them responsive to the wishes of their citizens. Their citizen certainly don't feel like things have failed. The Israel citizens have overwhelmingly volunteered to join the IDF callup and help restore peace to the citizens of Israel.

The goals of the Israel government should not be and is not to hand a Palestinian state out to Arafat (the terrorist).

Remember that by playing a victim you can get a lot a sympathy but it won't get you your own country.

Someone who doesn't go on rampages and smash Palestinian civil infrastructure in a fit of pique.

You believe this? Just as you believed the story of mass graves in Jenin?

That was no fit of pique, that was reestablishing a deterrent. The Palestinians had become convinced that the Israelis are soft and would cut and run in the face of terror. It's working so far, Israelis' chances of being blown up in their local restaurant are way down. I'm sure btw, that Israeli soldiers were under orders to take PA hard drives; the IDF was looking for evidence of terrorist plans, and the PA doesn't file that under T for terrorism. It's still not 'pique'.

My only regret is the Israel was once again stopped from smashing the PA entirely. While that corrupt and terrorist regime survives, there will be no peace. When the Palestinians have a government AND an opposition to the government, there will be peace.
