OT Harry I have been using C# and DotNet for the last six months. The primary benefit is that it comes with large library (the largest the world has ever seen) that is accessible from VB, C#, C++, J# and Java Script.

The library is solid and bug free in comparison to what other vendors offer as libraries. Unlike other libraries I've work with, I rank DotNet the best. It works as documented and doesn't crash from internal library errors.

The DotNet library(s) also simplifies Web and conventional Windows programming.

I think DotNet will do well. Rumor has it that DotNet will soon be available on Linux and FreeBSD platforms.
