TA,

Don't you think that a retest of the Sept lows would give us a nice looking bottom in the naz? With a strong economic upturn underway its time, fundamentally, for a bottom to form.

To me this is the final grinding attrition phase where prices get rationalized to death. The only thing for me to do is keep focusing on the next leadership roster (which can and will, of course, contain some old names) and wait for this sorting-out to take its course. It could end tomorrow with a flash in the compost heap, or it could end in months.

The market is currently still ignoring good news from the likes of Manugistics, UT Starcomm, FreeMarkets, etc. As long as that goes on and no divergences appear I think the best thing is stay hedged and keep time horizons short.

My biggest worry here is the S&P 500, so I hope my caution is some sign of a bottom.
