I'm underwater on 300 shares of JDSU. Fortunately I only paid $4.29 for them (not over $100 like some people) but I guess I bought to soon...

10% a year for 20 years is is nothing to be ashamed off, but for some of these stocks it only would take them back to what they were trading 6 months ago. That's right, compound appreciation of 10% over the next 20 years will take them no where near what they were trading not too long ago. I think when one thinks about these numbers, it really sheds some light to the magnitude of the crash in these blue chips.

Also I am certain you can make better that 10% holding on to these companies bonds instead of the common.
