"When did you become so high and mighty that you are qualified to tell other people what they want?"

Lazarus Longellow <g>~~~~~

Why did I say "businesses" instead of "industries"?? Why do you think that I carefully put the word "objective" in front of "value"? Do you think I just take a grab at whatever word floats by? Let me answer both of those questions for you...because it is exactly the same as the third law of motion!<g>

I used "objective" in order to contrast the kind of value that has essential import--broad-based and amenable to rational consensus--so as to contrast it with value which is merely personal and subjective. This is not to discredit subjective value; it is merely to indicate that much consumerism is objectively of dubious merit...and has appeal to a rather narrow base, and a capricious and callow consumer.

I am not saying that farting cushions do not have a value. Have I not sent you one for three straight Christmases?! However, I am saying that I remark an essential difference between farting cushions and rescuing sleeping children from a burning house. I hope that you do to, and that you can therefore accept some of my satire as meaningful--rather than simply perplexing...

Your reference to "Das Kapital" is undoubtedly an attempt to characterize me as a Christian; but the fact of the matter is, I have never even read Matthew--never mind Marks.

"Who elected you God?"

Who elected me God?? You ridiculous little humans and your silly "elections"--LOL!!

"Certainly isn't the way gpv't does it- -essentially robbery at gunpoint."

The only reason you contribute to any of these is because you are forced to? You don't feel any voluntary desire to preserve or support any of these benefits? C'mon, Lazarus. You only support these programs because of guns? You need to be forced at gunpoint to contribute a few cents to a Vet who left his leg in a trench in some God forsaken foreign hole in the ground? I don't believe you. I don't know you well; but I know you better than that...
