Hi bdog,

Only a 1 beer roundtable??? <lol> Hardly enough to get the creative juices flowing. Maybe a 1 pitcher roundtable.

We'll have to get you down here to see what I've done with things. Just now I've evicted myself back to my corner desk in the family room (with only 1 computer) as the job of reroofing the house gets started this next week. The chute to the dumpster for the torn off shakes from the upper roof will be right outside the dormer that has my new trading desk and the noise would be too much. I know this is the NW, but let's hope it stays clear for a couple weeks so the new roof can get on and I can move back in my office.

When we're at Chelan, we stay up beyond Manson - so no 1/4 point fixes as we're quite a ways out of town. There's only 1 pay phone line to the area so I take off from trading, but would probably do studies and backtesting systems if I take a laptop.

I think someone has coded the elder bull-bear and force index already for AB. Tomasz plans to add quote.com as another RT feed (originally was going to go with it over eSig, but some of us convinced him otherwise). Personally I gave up on quote.com long ago - too erratic. The new eSig charting is also nice and eSig will be adding additional historical minute and tick data over the next few months. Give me a credit if you go with eSig, please.

If you are interested in float analysis, check out Steve Woods' work, The Precision Profit Float Indicator on sale this weekend at Trader's Library ($20 v $70) - traderslibrary.net - he has another book out (I forget the title), but from the table of contents, it appears to be the same as his first - perhaps updated, but same number of pages and only a year later so ??? Another AB user has coded in a float turnover indicator using float and fundy data from QP - I haven't used it extensively, yet so don't know if it exactly duplicates the software Woods has for TS and SuperCharts. And I haven't tried to optimize it for any group of stocks. One other plug for AB - it has the capability to "optimize" a trading system to 1 or more stocks - you set the time period and the indicator values and increment of the indicator that you want tested and it will crunch the numbers and rank order the settings for the indicator - e.g., you could test a MACD crossover system for all combinations between 3,8,3 and 12,26,9 against the semiconductor group or just the SOX over the past 18 months. For complex systems it can take a while (nice to have a second computer or a lot of power), but you end up with a customized indicator. I'll have to try it on Mark's Stoch and CCI settings for golds sometime.

Good trade on DROOY - all the golds are entering a touchy time, IMHO, as the popular press "discovers" the bull market in gold. MF, CNBC, etc. When Barron's puts a picture of a golden bull on the cover, watch out. Meanwhile, the nimble may still do well.

Peace and Justice --- Patrick
