Dear Monica:

In the newspaper today (www.jsonline.com) Alan Greenspan was quoted as favoring stock options being a business expense and accounted for as such. He says it is needed to prevent any Enrons lurking out there. Yes it is a hit to AMD, but it would make Intel need to restate earnings from supposed profits into definite losses for the past few quarters. Oh, and pro forma earnings would be banned as well by a Senate bill being worked on.

I applaud both proposed changes. It makes comparisons much easier and earnings statements more readable by the average Joe.
