Cookie - NDX = big cap while COMP = broad cap, and it's the big cap techs that are taking the brunt of the selling these days. That's also part of the reason many people think this run will form a real bottom, i.e. one of those infrequent occasions when all the generals get taken out and shot.

I'm from Missouri on that prediction for the moment (see below), but it could indeed turn out to be the case if they take them low enough. My bearishness would evaporate in a NY minute and make me want to get long if they priced the reasons for that bearishness in.

The thing that's perplexing to me is that the generals are being taken out back one at a time instead of all at once. By definition, that's much too orderly to qualify for a panic, and IMO panic must be present in order to make a genuine bottom.

So get that shopping list ready early, a southbound express could approach any time.
