If you are going to make this argument (and options benefits are a cost that I believe should be noted on the income statement) you should use a more appropriate value.

Yes, Intel spent $1B on stock repurchases but Intel also received $360 in proceeds and tax benefits so the net cost was $640M. Last quarter they also reduced shares outstanding by 37M so perhaps another $100M+ should also be eliminated from the cost.

Intel hasn't provided very good guidance on what "other" is but it does still contain acquisition related costs. Dropping these from the category the actual business within the category the loss still exceeds revenues (so costs more than double revenue). See #reply-17340550

Given the relative size of Intel's other category Intel it is far less relevant than AMD's own minor categories ("Other IC Products" and "Foundry") which have even less visibility - AMD doesn't report segment income.
