InspecTech release 8/15/01

Martinez continues, “This was also a testament to our management of the supply chain infrastructure. Now we’re producing SPD laminates on one end of the process and installing FAA approved windows on the other. These windows are now available for installation by any one of the hundreds of completion centers around the world. Additionally, we now have capacity in place to meet our goal of selling and installing 5,000 windows per month in 2002.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

InspecTech Wins Order from Major Jet Manufacturer to Develop SPD Windows
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, Oct. 22, 2001--InspecTech Aero Service, Inc. has received an order for SPD "smart" aircraft windows to be developed for a major aircraft manufacturer. The customer, one of the top five jet manufacturers in the world, cannot be named at this time due to non-disclosure agreements and for competitive reasons.

SPD (Suspended Particle Device) aircraft windows incorporate a fast-responding light-control technology invented by Research Frontiers Incorporated (Nasdaq:REFR) of Woodbury, New York. InspecTech has developed SPD aircraft windows that can be installed in aircraft using existing 28-volt DC or 115-volt AC electrical power input. SPD aircraft windows, which replace aircraft window shades, are lighter in weight and easier to maintain than present-day mechanical shading systems due to their inherent simplicity of design.

Alex Martinez, InspecTech's head of engineering and new product development, notes, "This customer is well-known for its innovation and advancement in the aviation marketplace, and their decision to integrate our SPD windows into their products will continue that tradition." Martinez goes on to say, "During our discussions with this manufacturer, it became very evident that SPD was getting serious attention at many levels in their organization for current production jet models. We exchanged some great ideas at our meetings, and we will be incorporating those ideas into the design for their units."

James Lang, President of InspecTech states, "We're excited to have won this order for SPD windows and related electronics. After successful completion of this development phase, the customer plans to integrate SPD cabin window assemblies into their best-selling jet models. We are looking at potential annual window production quantities in the thousands which will represent millions of dollars in revenues per year thereafter."

In addition to selling SPD aircraft windows as original equipment to the world's jet manufacturers, SPD aircraft windows can also be installed on existing aircraft during regularly scheduled maintenance events.

InspecTech plans to achieve its sales goal of 5,000 SPD aircraft windows per month in 2002 by selling and installing through various market channels of manufacturers, completion centers, aftermarket suppliers, as well as directly to end-users such as airlines, charter fleets and fractional operators. InspecTech is partnering with various companies to supply components to be used in SPD window systems, such as the recently announced alliance with Goodrich Corporation who will be producing power supplies and switch circuitry.
