JC, I never said I wrote the book on politeness. I've seen instances where a poster has put someone on ignore and told them so. I usually take this as an attempt by poster #1 to get some distance from poster #2. Now, if poster #2 then uses the opportunity of his/her invisibleness to poster #1 to make nasty comments, then I don't think that's very nice. I am, ahem, a pro. All seriousness aside, we are the lesser for the women's absence, including (hypothetically) Poet. Now, if you don't think this practice is "fair play", why do you engage in it yourself? If you would prefer that I not refer to you in posts to others, I'll do so. But I expect the same behavior from you.
