As I placed the US guv itself on my crumpled list, I would point out that there were plenty of rumors that there was more to the Oklahoma bombing than was let out. But who wants to say anything when rightwing fanatics are the fallguy? Apparently it is easier to speak up when the fallguys are from outside of the country. If it's the guv involved here, look for some gun related massacres so the gun control lobby gets a boost. If they really want our liberty, the guns have to go.

Al, re the 911 suspect list I, too, have wished that one of the "bad guys" (Iraq, Iran, Saudi, China, Russia) was behind it but I just can't make it stick. However which way I look, the finger of suspicion always points to the good ole' US of A. 1. Too much political, geopolitical and tactical advantage has accrued to the US, and to Israel, as result of the attacks, to make me believe the advantages were just serendipitous. Conversely, too much disadvantage has befallen the Muslims to make me think they would have been stupid enough to do it. In fact, they achieved no advantage or benefit what-so-ever. Further, despite many warnings to the effect from Rumsfeld etc, there were no follow-up attacks. 2. The attacks were highly complex and well co-ordinated and required considerable skills. It is impossible for guys in caves in Afghanistan, or wherever, to have co-ordinated them. In fact, other than the bin Laden tapes, which could have been made in Hollywood for that matter, no evidence has been found in Afghanistan or anywhere else which incriminates Al Qaeda in the 911 attacks. 3. There are many suspicious facts. A few are a. No official investigation/inquiry despite many calls for one b. Al Qaeda and Bin Laden were accused within 12 hours and without any particular evidence except that which was obviously left lying (pun) around. c. It took 90 minutes for any fighter aircraft to appear. This is extraordinary because it normally takes about 10 minutes. d. FBI and CIA claim to be "asleep". This is unbelievable when it is common knowledge that many people, including MOSSAD, had warned them that an attack was imminent. e. Although the FBI, CIA and the US Airforce were all fast asleep, the US army seems to have been very wide awake and was virtually mobilized on 911. So-much-so it was able to mount an airborne and land attack on Afghanistan in an unheard-of small time f. No alleged terrorists came from Afghanistan so why go there? In fact, most were Saudis and, even more surprisingly, many are still alive. It's my opinion that the reason OBL was incriminated and then attacked was that he is an old CIA asset and an enemy of Russia (USSR). US needed Russian compliance, even support, both for the war in Afghanistan and to get the oil from the "stans". If the US had just started a war in Afghanistan without a VERY good reason, Russia would have been very upset. Clearly, Putin and Bush are now buddy-buddy --- so the plan worked. Ironically, it is also my view that the apparent Chechnyan sabotage/terrorist-attacks which started the recent Russian war against them was actually done by the Russian secret-police in order to have a reason to incriminate the Chechnyans and start the war. Once again, the alleged perpetrators of the sabotage/terrorist-attacks (Chechnyans) achieved no advantage --- Grozny was razed to the ground.
