nice -- thanks -- followed the link forward and found exactly what I wanted, i.e. in washouts it can be a very early indicator in terms of price. Does seem reasonable though (forgetting about the small sample for a moment) that the high TRIN means a real washout is coming soon -- OR -- it isn't coming at all for some time. I also agree with one of the fellows in that series of posts -- a spectacular rise in the NDX would probably dent the interest in goldshares for the intermediate term.
