I was looking at the weekly u sing stochastic with an eye on the RSI...
on the nasdaq weekly the stoch stayed oversold from October 2000 to April 2001, for 6 months.

And the RSI was under 45 from October 2000 to October 2001, an entire year, and has only been below 45 now since mid April with one quick dip there in February...

Just saying in a slow selloff indexes can stay oversold a lot longer than most people think, without a good move up.
