Don't do math if you don't have to. Look at the P/S (price to sale) ratio

Mani, I missed this post......and I realize now that I did not understand what you meant by price/sales ratio since I had never worked with it before when determining whether a stock was a buy or not. And yes, by that particular ratio, MRVC is a better buy.

However, I suggest that there are other factors that determine the desirability of a company, and by those factors, MRVC looks to fall short certainly in terms of CIEN, if not JNPR as well. And the market seems to agree given where the three are in terms of price, and in terms of the way they responded to yesterday's rally. The markets may not always be right but they are probably the most important indicator to watch and can not be ignored. FWIW.
