Hui,

I responded to Larry's post before I read yours. The installed base of Oracle applications is huge and not going away. As I said, it is way too expensive to rewrite most applications from scratch. I know companies that are still using Dos versions of FoxPro that they won't upgrade because of the complexity and expense. By the way, Microsoft bought FoxPro from Foxbase several years ago and still supports it with its recent Visual FoxPro version 7. If Oracle is losing market share to Microsoft SQL Server, it would most likely only be for new developments, not for replacements of existing applications.
