Right. But HWP didn't change it's stock symbol nor did CPQ change their's when these companies were acquired. CPQ merged with HWP = HPQ.

Then you Compaq shareholders should give us Hewlett Packard shareholders the premium back. Usually, there is no premium paid when it is a merger of equals.

Just a nit... but there is a difference between a merger and an acquisition and Compaq was acquired as I understand it.

With that said, I hope all cooperate and make it work as there is no sense pissing and moaning now as it will just turn people off that might be interested in buying the stock.
