Yousef: Higher voltage will negatively impact both device stability and reliability. It's a question of how much.

Yes, I realize that. I meant impact as in "unacceptably impact"&#133

The other question is the stability of the yield bin at the higher voltage. If it isn't well characterized, then deliveries could be impacted. However, I see your point ... AMD is losing market share as we speak. How long can AMD "hold on" ??!!

Even with a wide bin distribution, AMD could just run more wafers. Sure, it's not free, but it just seems that they have little choice at this point.

The next 2-3 quarters are not going to be fun (which, again, is why I am not holding any AMD stock atm).

Yousef,

AMD is losing market share as we speak

What are you basing this statement on? Did you predict AMD gaining market share last Q? If so, please post a link to your post. I am really looking forward to a reliable source to use for estimate unit shipments and market share.

I have not come up with any leading indicator that would show +/- 1 to 2% market share changes. (BTW, Teletubbies - as an indicator - have been are no better than broken clock). The only thing we can use with a degree of certainty are the ASPs. It is apparent when they are going up or down. By how much? That's another story.
