Well, I wouldn't call it a stagnant company. They have arguably the best database technology in the world. But I have to agree with you that the database industry is mature with little hope for hyper growth. Oracle should start giving out dividends and act like a mature company. Not only that, but I think it should have a PE of closer to 10 than 20, which would halve it value from here.

On topic, What about the rise in CSCO during the day +
after hours? I had them picked for a warning (at the
very least), but, they beat the street both pro-forma and
GAP. One hell of alot of trades went thru after hours,
all UP!

You are correct re: good old Larry, but @ 11.00
I couldn't pass it up (I should really love it @ 8.50 VBG!)
All in all, ORCL is the MAJOR player in the DB business,
outside of big blue, but IBM doesn't seem to really cashing
in on this. IBM is "tempting" @ it's present price + it
does pay a dividend. I try to "invest/crapshoot" in the
fallen angels - or at least the major players with the
most capital ($$$$$$$) behind them. Thus far, since the
glory days, I'm bearly breaking even. My problem, not
yours.

We'll see.

Take care, and best wishes!
