First thing i would do is change the ticker...It's just a subliminal thing with me...but i couldn't own a stock with a ticker that ends in Q...period....show me a ticker symbol that ends in Q...and i'll show you a stock that is just screaming to be shorted...

Last Updated: May 07, 2002 08:11 AM ET

NEW YORK, May 7 (Reuters) - Shares of Hewlett-Packard Co.HPQ.N ticked higher before the bell on Tuesday, a day after the printer and computer maker and recently acquired Compaq Computer Corp. began trading as one company in New York. Stocks overall were indicated to move higher.

Hewlett-Packard rose to $18.80 on Instinet, up from a close of $18.22 on the New York Stock Exchange under the new ticker symbol "HPQ." Investors appeared reassured on Monday that the integration of the two companies is proceeding smoothly after a rocky start.
