Engineered Support Receives $6.1 Million Contract for Special Forces Radar
System From U.S. Air Force

ST. LOUIS, May 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Engineered Support Systems,
Inc. (Nasdaq: EASI) received a contract value at up to $6.1 million from the
U.S. Air Force for depot level repairs of its AN/APQ-170 Combat Talon II (CT-
II) Terrain Following Radar system. The initial order under the contract
totals $3.7 million with an option for an additional $2.4 million. The
contract includes technician labor and replacement parts for a large number of
CT-II units currently used aboard U.S. Air Force aircraft, according to
Michael F. Shanahan, Sr., Chairman and CEO.
The AN/APQ-170 radar was developed to meet the operational requirements of
the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Forces. This dual-band multi-mode radar
system provides the MC-130H Combat Talon II fleet with the most advanced
terrain-following and terrain-avoidance navigation capability available today.
"Since its initial fielding, the Combat Talon II Radar has been integral
to the successful deployment of special operations military personnel and
equipment into remote locations around the globe. The Combat Talon has been
used extensively during current U.S. military operations in Afghanistan,"
commented Shanahan.
The repairs under this contract will be performed at the Company's Systems
& Electronics Inc. subsidiary's St. Louis facilities through 2006.

Nas 100 (NDX) resistance at 1187, at prior "breakdown" point; next downside target and implied "support" at low end of downtrend channel > 1138 -- major downside target = 1090 area, at Sept. lows;

QQQ key resistance > 29.5; next downside target and possible "support" at low end of downtrend channel > 28.4, where we are currently; major next downside target = 27, at Sept low.
