ALlan during a move the consensus is usially wrong, however there is a big piece of the move theyy will be right about. In late 1999 everyone was bullish, and the market went up for 3-5 months. As with the down now, Rydex, traders and general public is Bearish but they can be right here for the final push down. Its at the point where people believe the downside is a free bet that it becomes suspect. By the looks of P/c from press and traders I dont see that level of bearishness.
