I don't agree with your characterization of a second account...

as a lark, a prank, or a goof. It takes a fair amount of effort to do it, and it can only be done deliberately. I'm sure Poet knew she was violating TOU by doing so, as she has often demonstrated full knowledge of the terms and even has a thread on the subject.

It's hardly a felony offense ... but if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

If I'm not mistaken (and I may be), the terms actually call for permanent expulsion for having more than one account.

SI Jeff stated this:

"I will not divulge how this was brought to my attention. I will say that it was not brought to me by anyone named in the post here.

This tells me that it was indeed BROUGHT to his attention by a PERSON...and not a result of running a computer systems algorythmn.

This means (the Law of Parsimony) that someone who dislikes Poet reported this as a technical infraction. It also means that this person either was sufficiently trusted by Poet at one time so as to be privy to this rather innocuous (but still personal) information, or was given the information from someone who was.

Two things come to mind: Motive...and propinquity in time and place. I have noticed little in the last month or two which would indicate a peculiar hostility toward Poet (other than the obvious). Well, I suppose I have seen some developing animus...

Again, I follow the principle of Occam's razor, and thus clear CH of the dirty and small-minded deed. I am simply in a dither trying to find a logical suspect...
