Nem larger trader is likely ABX. Seems like a good idea if you control the price of Gold to be long your neighbor, suck up the free flow shares, move the gold price and dump the stock. Then cycle down Gold and do it again & again.

But hey, I'd be starting a conspiracy if I thought that way.

In a few days it'll be time to play the option put game on goldies!

Maybe it is the rumour circulating in South Africa mentioned in the post from Mining Web?

The attraction of a merger here between GOLD Fields, Barrick and ANgloGold would be significant. Might screw the free market for gold but that aside the recent move up of all three at the same time seems to point to the possibility that there may be some substance in the rumours.
