No charge for the workers let go -- the severance charge was taken in Q3 of 2001.

If the newspaper article is correct that these FAB25 employees are part of an additional workforce reduction there should an additional charge. Since AMD hasn't announced one the news is either not officially yet or this cutback was already accounted for in the previous charge. But IIRC the old press release only mentioned FAB14/15.

Edit: The old PR from amd.com says "The company will close Fabs 14 and 15, two semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities (fabs) in Austin, Texas that primarily serve AMD’s foundry operations. AMD will also reduce and restructure other manufacturing activities as well as administrative support associated with these facilities."
