Ernie,

I have a relatively new version of Norton installed. I can't remember if older versions had the automatic update feature or not. I know at one time I had to do it manually, but I can't remember how long ago that was.

Anyway, in my version, here's how you enable the automatic update feature. It might actually default to being enabled though.

- Right click on the Norton Antivirus icon in the system tray to open a menu.

- Click on the "Configure Norton Antivirus" option. This will open the configuration utility.

- On left side of the utility, find the Internet section and select "LiveUpdate."

- When the LiveUpdate window appears, check the "Enable Automatic LiveUpdate" option and also the "Apply updates without interrupting me" option.
