"QLogic: The Wrap-Up
05/07/02 06:43 PM EDT

This call said great things for the industry. QLGC was matter of fact and confident that growth will be strong going forward, that order patterns have stabilized and that the inventory replenishment phase has ended and this is all true growth we are seeing.

This says great things for QLogic's major customers, which include Fujitsu, Sun, Hitachi, IBM, Dell, Compaq, Network Appliance and EMC. They basically stated that orders from all customers were up and growing sequentially.

QLGC is definitely not the powerhouse Cisco is, so this could be somewhat of an aberration (technology changes, more need for these specific embedded components), but I doubt it. This is core stuff, as QLGC has a presence in all areas of the storage networking market.

Gulp -- here I go -- I definitely heard the tech turn in this call, mark the date.

By Chris Swenson, no positions."
