1.2 billion went to pay off the virtual leases. They said they did that to avoid folks thinking they had off balance sheet crap.

And it starts yet again. SI samplings:

"how much of CSCO's earnings came from their cash hoard"

"CSCO is screaming about their pro-forma, but the fact is they lost money this quarter"

"CSCO report is the biggest scam in the world!!!"

"$ 1.9 B to end synthetic leases >>
A measly 1.9 B? Ha! No problem. Just report the pro-forma and bury this charge somewhere with a tiny asterick...."

" CSCO will become yesterday's news soon."

"CSCO mum on guidance is an admission of guilt for Q4"

"Cisco's earnings just delays the inevitible"

"Good article on cnbc website about most tech. stocks headed for $3.00 and under"

"It looks like they sold an awfully big chunk of the written-off inventory. I wonder how long it will take the street to figure it out. The next day or two are going to be another gift from the trading gods to the shorts looking to establish positions"

"Csco's report was a FARSE"

"I see the numbers .. I read the comments about their various buisness segments - and they really don't jive... and the 63% margin ... its almost funny."

It seems odd that they could turn a 15% net profit in this mkt environment due to cheaper products and employee attrition.

Maybe so. Maybe it's true. Maybe i'm just an unfair crank when it comes to CSCO...
