The evil of siphoning doesn't lie in the actual money diverted to the personal bank accounts of the Fat Cats in suits at the top. The evil is that stock options, etc. are tied directly to the price of the stock. The stock price, then, becomes inflated by smoke, mirrors, shady accounting practices and hidden, offshore accounts to hide liabilities. Such nefarious practices often are hidden from the purview of the investor, the board of directors and mid-level managers.

The fact remains that the American investing public has little confidence in corporate America today to TELL THE TRUTH. Yes, that is a major reason why the S&P 500 has stayed stalled for the past two years and why, in my opinion, we will remain in this funk throughout the rest of this year.
