Someone posted that to me in a PM. Do you have comprehension problems, maried? In a way it's not real life here, in a way it is. I don't feel hopeful of being able to communicate to you the subtleties of the way in which essentially epistolary relationships (that sometimes result in 3D friendships; my husband and I are now friends with Poet and Bill, for example) resemble "real life" ones and the ways in which they don't. I have come to suspect that if it can't be expressed in a cliche, it's unlikely you would be able to grasp it. I would suggest that neither you nor your husband attempt to patronize me. It's logically impossible.
