Don't worry, when this market gets done with them, the good old retired ones will have to go back to work.
I agree with you. Seems like a lot of software these days is marketing, hype and bull when all they have done is dumbed down the product inconvienienced the purchaser.

Maybe it's because the people these kids have to impress aren't really the engineers, but those who manage engineers. And the further removed management is from engineering, the more they'll be impressed with Mac-like GUIs.

You bring up a very interesting topic here. Care to comment more about what exactly you're evaluating?
