Add naivety to your endless list of shortcomings. Government is the center of greed, sloth, corruption. The greed for power is far more dangerous and damaging to society than the greed for money. The private sector is self-correcting by nature. It is in watching that corrective process ("creative destruction") that you get confused and condemn the corrective sector rather than the sector that entrenches its corruption.

The thousands upon thousands of Enrons that compose our federal government NEVER get taken out by the markets, never get investigated or prosecuted. Instead they endure, and become the standard for the future...

Imagine how many Enrons would have to be strung together to even begin to approach the compounded, aggregate fraud and deceit of just the Social Security system alone...
