I saw through his disguise last night. At first, I thought he was a disgruntled HWP holder. Then I realized that the fact he kept touting the "superior" Dell model that he was really just a basher.

It's fine. It's his viewpoint. But I find it funny that people get blinded by simple things. PE ratios/market share/superior model....All of these have merit, but not on their own.
This is a big picture. HPQ is well placed to take advantage of that big picture if they move swiftly and execute well. Dell's model is sensitive to price changes, whereas HPQ's is less so. Dell may have brand presence via advertising, but HPQ has it in stores as well.
There's alot to this game, and a seasoned management team can hit the ball out of the park. OTOH, you could have a result like AOL, when a team of mismanagers screws up big time by overpromising, not moving fast enough, and believing their own hype.

If Carly and Mike are smart, they are keeping their nose to the grindstone and holding people accountable on a day by day basis. You can't let one person slip for one day during a process like this.
