Yup, as Claude says, some of the stock price move is anticipation.

For some reason, stocks like PAAS tend to track the price of gold as well as they do silver. Besides, prices move up because there's more buyers than sellers. People know Gates owns a chunk of PAAS, so they gravitate to it. I know it was a factor in my initial entry.

Buying doesn't have to be rational in the short term. Look at the you-know-what boom.
