Big productivity gains typically follow large layoffs. I'm not skeptical about the gains themselves....just the sustainability.
The "bubble" was based on the concept of gains going on forever...which clearly they can't at a level like this.

Still, this is very good news, but hardly worth a 200 point swing in the Dow...unless it is a driving force to get some of that $1trillion sitting on the sidelines back in the market.
