Interesting. I wonder what others might think?

CH indicated that he would welcome an harrassment case brought against
him,

That's not accurate.

I simply said such a case would raise some interesting legal issues. It would also expose a lot of the activity that's been going on behind the scenes, since all the relevant PMs could be subpoenaed. It would be quite interesting to see what people, such as Poet and E and perhaps others, have been saying about the situation in PMs. And we would perhaps find out why Poet got suspended, since I think the records on that would be open to subpoena.

If it were to come to pass -- and it only take one to tango where litigation is involved -- it would have some interesting, perhaps ground-breaking, issues. Might even interest the EFF and/or ACLU, who are both quite interested in the issues of anonymity on message boards.

And some, perhaps all, of the information from Poet which I have been keeping confidential at her request would become public record.

That said, I would prefer to avoid any such litigation, because as I know well, lawsuits have a way of making things worse, not better. I can't count the number of people I know who have sued over this and that (generally not my clients, because I am very selective in what issues I bring to court, but I see lots of other cases) where they wind up regretting that they ever started the thing in the first place.

But if it were to come to pass, I would of course defend myself vigorously. And I believe I would prevail.

There is an old Chinese curse -- "May you be involved in a lawsuit in which you are in the right."

CH has some advantage in that he is a divorce attorney as I understand it.
THAT explains a lot!
