I think the blackmail Sharon was referring to was the Euro trade threats made recently. I can't believe the restraint Israel has used. There have been 60 bombings in 20 months. Early on in the Church of the Nativity standoff Israel offered the terrorists exile if they would stand down. I wonder if anyone believes if the same thing were to happen in the US that terrorists could get that deal. I'm for giving Israel free reign in cleaning the Palestinian mess up once and for all.

Palestinians should be given the choice to enjoy Democracy in Israel

What is Israel? Is it a Jewish state or is it something else? If all the Palestinians were allowed to become Israeli citizens, would it still be Israel?

I have no real answers to these questions BTW.

Palestinians should be given the choice to enjoy Democracy in Israel, or go share the repressed misery in the Arab country of their choice.

A lot of Israelis are against the idea of allowing a large number of Palestinians to become Israeli citizens. The reasons behind this would seem to be 1 - The Palestinians let in will be terrorists or support terrorists. 2 - The idea of Israel as aJewish state, it may have a minority of non Jewish people (like the current Arab citizens in Israel) and maintain this status but what if the Arabs became a majority? 3 - Taking 2 further if the Arabs do become a majority and they vote in a government that makes the Jews and oppressed minority or tries to expel them then Israel will just have given away its own existance at the negotiating table. It will be a Palestinian state created by Israeli elections.

If the Palestinians are not be have full rights as citizens (thus reducing some of the fears of the Israelis, then they wont agree to the plan. They might not agree to it anyway. I really don't think this idea is going to go anywhere at this time.
