This has got to be the most astonishingly stupid and transparent gimmick companies have come up with yet:

11:38 ET Eastman Kodak reiterates outlook (EK) 35.00 +1.94: At its annual meeting, co reiterated Q2 and full yr guidance. Worth noting that EK provided this guidance less than two weeks ago with its April 25 earnings report.

11:18 ET General Electric reaffirms earnings targets (GE) 32.15 +1.50: Co reaffirms that it remains on track to deliver earnings in 2002 of more than $16.5 bln ($1.65-$1.67 per share before accounting changes), and remains comfortable with consensus estimates for double-digit earnings growth targets in 2003. Co had previously reiterated its 2002 guidance on April 24.

Allan, "before a finishing squeeze"

On other boards I read several who think this may go on for 2-3 days or longer (depending on the economic data coming out daily). Do you think it will last that long, or will it end tomorrow? Or am I asking the wrong bear? <g>
